Our team and staff at Granite Exchange and Granite Legal Services have donated a total of £10,000 to our 2023 charity partner PIPS Hope and Support this January.

Both businesses thank the incredible fundraising efforts of their entire team’s commitment to supporting PIPS Hope and Support in their mission of reducing the number of people who take their own lives and equip communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.

PIPS Hope and Support offers face-to-face counselling and therapies services to individuals who have been affected by suicide, extending support to families, friends, and colleagues. They also provide information and training to help increase awareness around issues such as mental health and trauma. Their services are provided to those across the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Newry, Mourne & Down Council and Upper Bann Council Areas.

Jonathan McKeown, Founder of Granite Exchange and Granite Legal Services, expressed his gratitude to the work of the staff and volunteers of PIPS Hope and Support during another challenging year for those helping to support people affected by suicide. Over the past year, the collaborative efforts of Granite Exchange and Granite Legal Services personnel have not only raised £10,000 but have also strengthened the team’s unity and passion for promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Northern Ireland has the highest suicide rate in the UK, with 14.3 suicides per 100,000.

Padraig Harte, PIPS Hope and Support’s fundraising, marketing and communications manager commented “We express our utmost gratitude for the incredibly generous donation received from Granite Exchange and Granite Legal Services. This invaluable contribution will greatly aid us in our mission to combat the rates of suicide and empower communities with the necessary skills to identify and address emotional distress.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated team and their supporters who have tirelessly worked towards raising funds for our cause. Their unwavering commitment has played a pivotal role in our ability to provide much-needed support.

At PIPS Hope and Support, we heavily rely on the kindness and generosity of individuals and groups like the remarkable teams at Granite Exchange and Granite Legal Services. Their continuous support has enabled us to offer therapy to individuals struggling with suicidal thoughts, high levels of anxiety, poor mental health, or those who have been bereaved by suicide.

We are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication to our cause, as it allows us to make a significant impact in the lives of those in need.”
